A TOTAL of 101 learners from Kuvukiland Primary School and 150 from Ondundu Combined School received school uniforms, which included school shirts, socks, shoes, skirts, trousers, jerseys, solar lights, and sanitary pads.
The donation, made by SOS Children’s Village Namibia in partnership with The Foschini Group (TFG), has made a meaningful impact on the lives of 251 vulnerable learners in Tsumeb.
In a statement issued on Friday, Regional Manager for SOS Children’s Village Namibia in Oshikoto, Teopolina Haitembu, encouraged learners to cherish and take care of the donated items.
“Our goal is for every Namibian child to attend school well-dressed, and we urge the learners to value these donations and pass them on to younger siblings once they outgrow them,” she said.
Ondundu CS Principal Julianne Nakale said that the partnership goes beyond school uniforms—it’s about shaping future leaders and instilling a sense of responsibility in our learners.
Meanwhile, Kuvukiland PS Principal Martha Uusiku expressed gratitude for the support, noting that many children in the community face significant hardships, including the lack of proper school clothing and food.
“This donation helps to ease the financial burden on struggling families, allowing children to focus on their education without feeling self-conscious,” she said.
The Tsumeb Municipality extended its heartfelt gratitude to SOS Children’s Village Namibia and The Foschini Group for their generosity.
The initiative serves as a shining example of how businesses and humanitarian organizations can work together to uplift communities.
